The Mountain State, as part of the Appalachian Mountain range, is covered in rock formations (mainly mountains). But there are notable famous rocks of which to visit for one reason or another. Seneca Rocks, for instance, is a famous rocky landmark. There is also Pinnacle Rock, a rock maze through which to hike (at Coopers Rock), and a famous hiking trail that leads to a ginormous rock called the Endless Wall.

Jefferson Rock is located on the Appalachian Trail as it passes through Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The rock site is open from dawn to dusk. Climbing on the rock is strictly prohibited.
