Missouri provides us with so many amazing opportunities for experiences – from family-friendly to those just for the adults – we just can’t find anywhere else. When you’re up for an adult-only day or evening out, plan a visit to this 163-year-old distillery in Missouri that promises one of those uniquely-Missouri experiences.
Embark on a unique nighttime - lit by lanterns - or a daytime tour of Holladay Distillery, a 163-year-old distillery in Weston that boasts a rich history.
The Holladay brothers went on to become major players in Missouri business. In fact, Ben Holladay started numerous businesses and, within 10 years of founding Holladay Distillery, he would earn distinction as the state's largest employer.
Throughout the decades, the distillery naturally changed ownership several times. Today, it offers nighttime tours by lantern and traditional daytime tours to give visitors insight into how the bourbon-making process works.
During the tour, get an up-close view of the property's limestone spring, originally found in 1804 by Lewis and Clark, and the more than 100-year-old stillhouse.
For an even more unique experience, plan an "extended" night tour of the distillery that includes the tour by lantern, bourbon tasting, and appetizers with cocktails.
Tour reservations are recommended. However, if you walk in, you may join the tour if there's an open space. (The reservation guarantees you will go on the tour.)
