Whether you’ve lived here your whole life, moved out here when you were a kid, or are just settling down in the Cowboy State, there are a few things you’ve got to check off your Wyoming bucket list. Check out some of the best decisions you can make in Wyoming below, and get working!
1. Don't be afraid of a little snow.
If you stay inside once the powder falls, you'll miss most of the year! Invest in some snowshoes or nordic skis and get out there to enjoy mother nature, even when you have to bundle up like the kid from A Christmas Story.
2. Order the Prime Rib.
Most of the time, you'll end up with an enormous, juicy, tender steak. Even when you have a "bad" cut, it's still better than most steaks in most other states.
3. Visit the Bighorn Medicine Wheel
This Native American creation is still used as a gathering place and ritual grounds, but the public can make the hike to see this amazing monument.

4. Settle down off the grid.
It's hard to find cell phone service outside of the big cities, but it's kind of relaxing not having to be "on call" like most of America. Settling down in a rustic homestead far off the grid is one way to slow down your life and make it relaxing and stress free.
5. Drive the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway
Though there are several hair-raising curves and steep drop-offs just inches from the road, this is one journey you'll be glad you took. Stop at the overlook on Dead Indian Pass to learn about the significant struggles of the Nez Perce tribe that is native to Wyoming.
6. Backpack in the Big Horns
Getting away from the world is easy to do in Wyoming, but there's nothing quite as majestic as few days in the Bighorn Mountain wilderness. Bring your sleeping pad and maybe a jetboil and you'll be set for a getaway that will stick with you for life. If you've never gone out into the backcountry before, bring an experienced friend.
7. Visit Yellowstone in the dead of Winter.
Forget fighting the summertime crowds. Make it a point to see the most fascinating ecosystem in the entire world in the dead of winter. When everything seems too frozen to be real, you'll be amazed at how lively the park remains.
8. Raft the Snake River
People come from all over the world to raft on the Snake River, and we're lucky enough to have it right in our backyard. If you've never been, grab your dry bag and book yourself an adventure with one of our state's many outfitters, like Mad River Boat Tours.

9. Get to know your neighbors.
In Wyoming, most towns are small enough that you can get to know pretty much everybody. While Wyomingites are known for being independent, everyone needs help on occasion, and being there for each other is a big part of life in the Cowboy State.
