When people think of Arizona, the typical activities that come to mind are those of its Old West heritage and stunning outdoor environment. Horseback riding, rodeos, hiking, camping, and plenty of other activities are certainly popular but they don’t encompass all of the possible activities available. Today we’re going to take a look at some of the less than ordinary activities you can do right here in Arizona. Check out what we found!
Scuba diving lessons in the middle of the desert? You better believe it. The Phoenix area alone has several places where you can get your scuba diving certification so that you can prepare for a trip to the Caribbean or to dive into one of our lakes. One place to visit is the El Mar Diving Center at 2245 West Broadway in Mesa where you can test out your first lesson for $25.
Speaking of sea life, Arizona isn't particularly well-known for aquariums, probably because of our proximity to the ocean. However, you can get a decent fish-viewing experience at SEA LIFE Arizona, located inside Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe. Tickets at the door on weekends cost $15.50 for adults and $11.50 for children.

While it may not quite be the same as a drive across the savannahs, you can still get a safari experience and still get home in time for dinner. The Out of Africa Wildlife Park offers safari tours where you can see some of the free-roaming animals up close. The park is located at 3505 West State Route 260 in Camp Verde. Tickets start at $32.95 for adults and $16.45 for children.

With all the shooting ranges and gun stores scattered across Arizona, plus some very unrestrictive laws, going shooting is a major pastime for plenty of Arizonans. If you want to add something a little different to your shooting routine, heading to the range to try out an assault rifle is something to add to your list.
