Living in Wyoming is one heck of a treat, and those of us who call the Cowboy State our home know that we’re lucky to enjoy our lives out here. If you’re feeling homesick or just proud of your state, take a minute to be thankful for all of these things that Wyoming loves.
1. Our mountains.
Wyoming is home to several gorgeous groups of mountains. Whether you prefer to spend time in the Tetons, the Absarokas, the Medicine Bow Mountains, the Bighorns, or any of the other mountain areas in the state, there's something Wyoming loves about getting up into the clouds.
2. Our charming small towns.
Our largest city is smaller than most "small towns" in other states, but that's just how we like it. Out here, if there are more than a few thousand people in one town, it's practically a metropolis. We love our little towns with only a few hundred people, because there are no crowds, no traffic, and everybody knows your name.
4. Our remote and protected wilderness areas.
Wyoming is home to more than a dozen protected wilderness areas, and we love getting out to explore them. Our forests are perfect for camping, fishing, hiking, and relaxation.
5. Our wild and scenic rivers.
Whether you kayak, raft, flyfish, or just love being out on the water, it's easy to find a place to launch in Wyoming. Our stunning scenic rivers are sure to bring you peace.
5. Our gorgeous highways and back roads.
Don't get me wrong - there is a big portion of the state that's flat lands and sagebrush, but we have enough stunning scenic highways and back roads that it's easy to go for a relaxing drive any time. Those of us in Wyoming love the lack of traffic and ever changing scenery.
6. Our wildlife.
We love our wildlife - except when it darts in front of our cars. Otherwise, though, we're a friend to Moose, Bears and more out here.
7. Our incredible steakhouses.
There's no place in the world that serves steak better than a quality Wyoming steakhouse. No matter where you are in the state, you can track down a mouthwatering cut that's sure to make your day a whole lot better.
8. Our historic ghost towns.
Wyoming's history is fascinating, and much of it is still on display. Visit a ghost town to step back in time to the earliest days of Wyoming settlement.
9. Our exciting rodeos.
We know how to throw a party out here, and we invite everyone. Cows, bulls, horses, calves, rodeo queens, and rodeo clowns all show up! From Frontier Days to Sundance's winter rodeo, you can find a real western celebration nearly any time of year.
