You’ll find Rustic Sky Horse Camp nestled within the Kisatchie National Forest in the tiny town of Melder, which is just a bit southwest of Alexandria.

The 30-acre ranch has had many names and owners over the years.

When Art and Susan Belsom purchased the property in 1989, it was named 4B. In 2008, Tony and Sambra Bettvy purchased the land and renamed it Lucky 4B Ranch. Today, Schuyler "Sky" and Gina Wright own the ranch and renamed it Rustic Sky Horse Camp.

Each owner added their own little touches and improvements to the property, like horse stalls, cabins, swimming pools, a cooking pavilion, and many other buildings.
Rustic Sky Horse Camp is the perfect place to get away for a couple of days and spend some time surrounded by nature.

There are multiple horseback riding trails within the Kisatchie National Forest that you and your gentle giant can embark on. Rustic Sky Horse Camp also has 65 stalls for you to use, a round pen, and 10 turnouts.

At night, head on over to the Saloon.

Trade in your cowboy boots for your dancing shoes and get ready for a fun-filled Fais-do-do. The Saloon offers karaoke, music, and dancing every Saturday evening at 8 p.m. If you play an instrument, you’re encouraged to bring it!
The Pavilion is great for cooking and enjoying a meal outside underneath the shade.

They host a potluck dinner every Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m., so bring a dish and meet other campers from all over.
