We’ve got nearly two full months of winter ahead of us, not to mention the lingering chill (and typically snow) that follows. And if you’re already anxious to get outside, that may seem like an eternity. Luckily, Montana has plenty of winter events and attractions, even for those who steer clear of snow sports. Make room in your schedule for a few of these trips and winter will be over before you know it.
Winterfest has really expanded in recent years, and this once short festival now lasts for several weeks. Come check out the snow sculptures, events and activities, and beautiful winter scenery until mid-February. The snow sculpture contest is February 17.
If you've never experienced Whitefish in the winter, next weekend's Whitefish Winter Carnival is the perfect opportunity to do so. Not only is the city even more charming when it's dusted with snow, but the events (like ski joring, which combines horses and skiing) will keep you entertained. This year's dates are February 1 - 3.
