There’s one seriously amazing destination in the town of St. Helena, California that can easily take an entire day to explore. Full of all kinds of wonders including a restaurant, winery, general store, and farmer’s market, this place is a one-stop-shop for any wine-loving Californian. Not to mention the fact that this ranch winery is just bursting with old-fashioned charm! You won’t be able to pass up a visit to one of the most enchanting destinations in the Golden State. Keep scrolling to see what we have to say about it.
The lovely Long Meadow Ranch Winery & Farmstead in St. Helena has a lot going for it. This place doesn't just preach the farm-to-table philosophy, it lives and breathes it.
It can be hard to stand out as a winery in Napa Valley. However, we think Long Meadow does a pretty dang good job. After all, this place is much more than your average winery. It's also a great place to get a tasty meal, stock up on fresh produce, and even do some shopping.
Long Meadow has been around since the late 1800s. Back then, the property was thriving with vineyards, apple orchards, and olive groves. It went neglected for some time but was nurtured back to health when the Halls bought the property in 1989. It's been a haven ever since.
One of Long Meadow's greatest draws is its widely acclaimed on-site restaurant—The Farmstead. Located within a historic barn, the restaurant boasts a regional tasting experience unlike any other. Showcasing fresh ingredients from the farm itself, this is truly farmhouse dining at its finest.
Did you enjoy those pickles that came with your meal at the restaurant? Interestingly enough, you can stop by the General Store and pick up a jar of your own. In fact, the quaint store boasts a huge selection of Long Meadow's award-winning wines, olive oils, and artisanal provisions.
If you're in need of some fresh produce, look no further than the year-round Farmstead Farmers Market. Yes, there's an actual farmers market located on the ranch. Every week, you'll find organic produce, beef, honey, and other goodies available for purchase.
If you'd really like to get a feel for the wine-making process, you can partake in a tour at their winery in the Mayacamas Mountains. Situated on a historic 650-acre ranch, guests will have the opportunity to see the wine-making process up close and personal.
On top of everything else, the property is downright breathtaking. You'll want to spend some time traversing the vine-covered landscapes and beautiful structures before your visit comes to an end.
