The world's ONLY corn palace was built in 1892 and is adorned in a whopping 275,000 ears of corn! Even crazier? The theme of the exterior changes every year and costs a cool $100,000+ each time.

While it is not a building in the traditional sense, the picnic area at the Chamberlain Rest Area is still worth noting, as it has a larger-than-life concrete replica of a traditional Native American tipi.

Located smack dab in the middle of the normally beautiful Black Hills is the "Largest Survival Community On Earth," which is comprised of military-munitions-bunkers-turned-doomsday homes that may look cold and scary on the outside, but - according to developer Vivos xPoint - clean up nicely.
