Arkansas native, Carol Ann Carson, has written for OnlyInYourState for three years now. She resides in Western Arkansas' Mountain Frontier but calls NWA home as well. She loves exploring the trails around the Buffalo National River and has yet to find a waterfall that wasn't her favorite.
Arkansans know better than to judge a place by its name. After all, one of our best scenic drives is the Jasper Disaster. Another misnomer that’s a must-visit is the Devil’s Knob-Devil’s Backbone Natural Area. Let’s take the trail that leads to the Devil’s Backbone and see the amazing view.
We would love to see your photos of this Natural Area in our Facebook Group, Arkansas Nature Lovers! You should join for your chance to be featured and to discover why there’s nothing better than Arkansas’ stunning nature.
The Ashe juniper trees along this trail are pretty old, but they’re spring chicks compared to this ancient forest.
