12 Things That Make People From Small Town Colorado The Best People

I have said it before and I will say it again: I hail from a small Colorado town and couldn’t have asked for a better place to grow up. Nowhere else but in a small town will you find such good, salt-of-the-earth people and opportunities to grow that you may not have had otherwise. Allow me to elaborate and explain why people from small town Colorado are the best:
1. Small town natives learn the importance of supporting local businesses at an early age.
I'm not going to lie; part of this is because we had no other option... but in hindsight, supporting the local hardware store was way better than going to a Home Depot.
2. Since everyone in town knew everyone else, it was harder to get in trouble...
Unless you were really sneaky about it.
3. ...and you learned early on to hold yourself accountable.
4. You learned (and perfected) your favorite hobby at a young age.
5. People from small towns know what real food tastes like...
6. ...and where to get it.
Hint: it doesn't come from a big city chain restaurant.
7. You have a strong sense of self-worth.
It just comes natural when you're a big fish in a tiny pond!
8. Nobody appreciates the smaller things in life more than a small-town kid.
9. Since you know (or are related to) a Colorado farmer, you have nothing but mad respect for the hard work that goes into the industry.
10. Bravery is running toward the storm; not away from it.
Any country kid will tell you this.
11. Family always comes first.
There's a pretty good chance that several members of your extended family lived in your hometown and could help you at a moment's notice.
12. Finally, no matter how long you're away, you always know that you have a place to go that will welcome you back with open arms.
