Is breakfast really the most important meal of the day? Once you try this fried-chicken biscuit from Pine State Biscuits, it certainly will be! Take a look:
Pine State Biscuits got its start in Portland in 2006, and today, the restaurant has grown to include three locations in Portland (with another opening soon), and one in Reno, Nevada.
Portland locations include 2204 NE Alberta, 1100 SE division #100, and 125 NE Schuyler St.. The new location will open at 1717 NW 23rd Ave. soon!
From April through November, you'll find Pine State Biscuits at the Portland Farmers Market, too. The market is located at SW Park & SW Montgomery.
No matter which location you choose, this place is hopping, especially on weekends, so be prepared for a wait. Don't worry - it's well worth it!
The biscuits here are absolutely amazing. They're fluffy, flaky, and oh-so-flavorful.
You could enjoy them with just a little bit of whipped butter and jam...
...but the most popular item on the menu is The Reggie. It includes a savory piece of fried chicken, bacon, and cheese, covered in creamy gravy.
If you like eggs, try the Reggie Deluxe - it's the same as the Reggie, with an egg added.
You'll want to eat this decadent meal with a knife and fork.
Pair your biscuit with a Bloody Mary for the perfect Sunday brunch.
Other options on the menu include the McIsley, which consists of fried chicken, pickles, mustard, and Bee Local honey, and other creations like the Regina, with egg and braised greens.
The Wedgie is perfect for lunch. The fried chicken is topped with a fried green tomato, a wedge of lettuce, and lots of Bleu cheese dressing.
Can't get enough Pine State biscuits? Take some home for later!
You'll also want to try the homemade pop tarts, pot pies, and huge bourbon caramel cinnamon rolls!
