If the building looks familiar, it's the 100-year-old former Metropole Hotel, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. When the hotel was restored and renovated, it was transformed into a modern art museum and boutique hotel, yet maintains plenty of historic character.
Many of the original details were left alone, both inside and outside the hotel, and you'll notice them whether you stay in a room overnight or if you just visit the museum or restaurant.
