Every year a special holiday train chugs through Canada and many northern states on its way to spread Christmas cheer, and North Dakota is one of them. It’s amazing just to see it pass by, but luckily for us here in ND you can also catch it at six different towns that it stops in for fun events. Bundle up and bring the whole family when this train comes into town, because you don’t want to miss it.

This mesmerizing, brightly-lit train will be making its way across the prairies of North Dakota on December 14th and 15th, 2018.

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train makes a yearly run across multiple states and Canadian provinces. This year will be its 20th year making the journey. As always, it'll be chugging through six towns in our state this winter.

The towns include Hankinson and Enderlin on December 14th, Carrington, Harvey, Minot, and Kenmare on December 15th. After that it'll move on to Canada.

This train does more than roll through town and dazzle everyone with its holiday decorations: it makes a stop at each place and provides live entertainment and plenty of ways to spread the holiday cheer. All you have to do is show up - there is no cost to attend!

The train will have live music from multiple bands and musicians right from its cars. It's a wonderful time to gather with the community and enjoy the festivities together. Snow or shine, the event will go on.

Santa will be making an appearance as well to spread the gift of giving. The best part about the CP Holiday Train is that it raises money and donations for a different local food pantry in each town to spread the joy with everyone this holiday season. While the event is free, you are encouraged to bring food donations to help them with this cause. It's a great way to enjoy the day, get into the Christmas spirit, and help others.
