Winter provides a picture-perfect backdrop for outdoor adventure. Our state parks promise plenty of fun, especially after a fresh snowfall, ranging from ice skating and sledding to cross country skiing and hiking. And, every December, Little Buffalo State Park welcomes visitors to explore its festively decorated trail, drenched in glittering Christmas lights.
Little Buffalo State Park transforms into a wonderland, especially blanketed in snow, each winter. But, it becomes even more magical during the holiday season.
Lace up your snow boots for a magical holiday adventure along Little Buffalo's Christmas Trail, set for December 17 to 23, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. each evening.
The annual Christmas Trail winds along a quarter of a mile trail, dotted with glistening lights and displays. (Head to the East Picnic Area for the event.)
And, that's just the beginning of your Christmas adventure. As you hike through the wooded trail, you'll likely run into the man of the season - Santa, who will be on hand nightly to listen to Christmas wishes and pose for pictures.
After your hike, sip on a hot chocolate and nibble on homemade cookies, for sale at the event, as you sit in front of the stage for a live holiday performance.
