Stonemountain & Daughter Fabrics is so much more than your typical fabric shop. Craft lovers who walk through the doors of Stonemountain & Daughter Fabrics will instantly feel like a kid in a candy store. This 6,000-square-foot store is just bursting at the seams with every type of fabric you can imagine.

The locally owned shop is owned by a family that's been in the fabric business for 100 years, so you know they know their stuff. The original store was established as Steinberg & Sons in Los Angeles in 1919.

Since then, the Steinbergs opened a variety of stores all over California. The store that you see today in Berkeley was opened in 1981 and is run by a father/daughter team—the third and fourth generations of the Steinberg family. You could say fabric runs in their blood!

Since its opening over 30 years ago, the store has grown into the top fabric and sewing center in Berkeley. You'll find every item you could possibly need here at Stonemountain, including remarkable fabrics, buttons, notions, books, scissors, and so much more.
