Arkansas native, Carol Ann Carson, has written for OnlyInYourState for three years now. She resides in Western Arkansas' Mountain Frontier but calls NWA home as well. The graduate of University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, Carol Ann earned her B.A. in English and will soon be pursing her M.A. in Library Science. She loves exploring the trails around the Buffalo National River and has yet to find a waterfall that wasn't her favorite.
Those of us who grew up with the books will soon have the chance to party in the magical world inspired by Harry Potter. The Winter Crystal Ball will be an absolutely magical night at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs. Typically we post about events about a week, maybe two in advanced. However, this event will be sold out soon and we’d hate for you to read about this fantastic ball just to learn that tickets are sold out. So, let’s press our dress robes and have our wands ready as we look forward to this wizardly extravaganza.
Dragons, wizards and a bit more magic are coming to Eureka Springs.
A collection of Arkansas witches and wizards, known as the Wizard Way of the Ozarks, will be hosting the most magnificent winter ball for 21+ guests.
Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry may be too far away for most Arkansans but we do have a fabulous alternative, the Crescent College of Magical Matriculation.
The Wizard Crystal Ball will be held at the Crescent Hotel and Spa. A fitting location since this hotel already has its own collection of ghosts and paranormal activity. The ball will be on Jan. 26th, 2019 from 5 pm - 12 am. Use floo powder or apparate to the Crescent at 75 Prospect Ave., Eureka Springs, AR 72632 (sorry, no valet for broomsticks).
In addition to the expected soiree standards like drinking and dancing, the Winter Crystal Ball will also have ice skating and even ghost stories after midnight (this will be at the America's most haunted hotel, after all).
The Saturday night ball isn't the only chance to break out your wand.
The Intrigue Theatre will be conducting some magical experiments on the Friday night before the ball. Illusionist Sean-Paul and clairaudient Ghost Talker Juliana Fay will showcase their expertise in configurations, divination, charms, and even apparition throughout the evening.
You may still be waiting for your letter to Hogwarts, but don't wait to get a ticket to this upcoming ball.
Tickets start at $120, with different additions available as well. The Crescent will also be having a special rate for wizards attending the ball so be sure to save your ticket confirmation email for the password to unlock the lower room rate.
