There’s a lot to see in Kansas, especially if you’re a lover of the outdoors. Animals specifically love to call Kansas home during migration periods, and we’re happy to have them. This winter, you’ll find that one of our favorite birds likes to migrate here, making it the perfect time to get all the pictures you need and teach younger generations about the importance of every Kansas nature center and state park. Come take a look at who will be visiting this winter!
This beautiful bridge is part of a place called Chaplin Nature Center. It's beautiful throughout the year, but something special happens every winter.
If you've never been lucky enough to see one in person, you're in luck! Every year, Chaplin Nature Center hosts a viewing party where you can hike through the park and try to spot as many as you can.
The next date for their Bald Eagle Hike is set for Saturday, January 26, 2019. It lasts from 10 a.m. to noon, so you'll have plenty of time to explore the park afterward, or take a trip around town as well.
If you miss the first hike or want to attend two of them, they've got another one planned for February 2nd of the same year. Hopefully we keep seeing these majestic birds in their natural setting.
You’ll find Chaplin Nature Center at 27801 27th Dr., Arkansas City, Kansas. You can learn more about all of their events (including the bald eagle hike) at their website here. If you’ve been on this trip before, you should share your photos with us in our Kansas Nature Lovers Facebook group!
