There are so many wonderful ways to celebrate Christmas, but enjoying the lights is one of my favorite things to do. My family likes to drive around and find the most colorful holiday displays. While driving is nice, it would be pretty amazing to just relax and let someone else do the driving. It would be even better if Santa were there – that’s where this terrific trolley ride comes in.
Holiday Santa trolleys depart each year, bringing joy to children and families alike.
The tours are run by a wonderful non-profit organization, the Mid-Atlantic Center For The Arts. Founded in 1970, MAC has done so much for the city over the years. They've restored notable landmarks including the Emlen Physick Estate and Cape May Lighthouse, launched the Cape May Music Festival and offer a wide selection of events year-round. Their volunteers are dedicated and knowledgeable, offering top notch trolley tours. Fascinating themed rides are held all year long. You can learn about the ghosts of Cape May, the town's history, local architecture and much more. Perfect for families, friends and everyone in between, there's a trolley tour to suit almost any interest.
There are a variety of holiday trolley rides offered, including the Ghosts Of Christmas Past Trolley Ride, Holiday Lights Trolley Ride and Trolley Rides With Santa. The Santa Trolley Tours start out with a sweet treat and visit from Santa at the Emlen Physick Estate's Carriage House. Then, kids and their families will hop onto the trolley for stories and singing with Mrs. Claus. Along the way, they'll be treated to the dazzling holiday lights decorating Cape May's magnificent Victorian homes and inns.
The Ghosts Of Christmas Past Tour is perfect for adults, and a unique way to celebrate the season. What can you expect? "A member of the East Lynne Theater Company regales you with a Victorian holiday ghost tale as you ride through Cape May’s festively decorated Historic District." Is that a cold spot you feel, or just winter's chill? The Holiday Lights tour is another option, focused on both Christmas lights and historic holiday traditions.
Cape May’s Santa Trolley Rides are fun for the whole family! Budget friendly, they’re just one of many holiday activities to enjoy in the charming seashore town. To learn more about times and prices, visit the Cape May MAC website here.
