Trefzger's Bakery is the oldest store of its kind in Central Illinois. It has been around since 1861 and is best known for making the most amazing cakes you'll ever see that aren't on TV.
Located in a building that is about as old as the bakery, this shop has actually had several different locations over the years. It moved to this big brick building in 2016 after two years of restoration.
Family-owned for more than 150 years, this well-loved bake shop is beautiful inside and out. The store is bright and very open with brick walks and exposed support beams.
Guests can get a little bit of everything at this shop. Homemade bread, cookies, pies, danishes, croissants, cinnamon rolls, coffee cakes, cheesecakes, homemade candy, and more are always available.
The most astounding things that come out of this bakery, though, are the cakes. In addition to everyday cakes, the shop will also work with patrons to create special pieces that will wow any recipient.
No matter the occasion, this designer cake bakery will produce a magical creation better than you could have imagined. This shop has made everything from a cake that looks like a bucket of chicken to to one that looks like an armadillo.
