With 750 miles of coastline, waterfront restaurants are a dime a dozen here in Hawaii, but not all restaurants are created equal. Every once in a while, a new restaurant opens in Hawaii and becomes an instant must-visit. Today’s restaurant is one such dining destination. With jaw-dropping harbor views and mighty mouthwatering meals, you’ll want to add this island establishment with phenomenal harbor views to your Hawaiian Islands dining bucket list.
Located at the Pier 38 Fishing Village off Nimitz Highway in Honolulu, Harbor Restaurant will become one of your new favorite restaurants in the Aloha State.
In addition to the modern, upscale dining room, there is a contemporary lounge that offers relaxed seating, and a private dining room that seats 40 for special events.
While you will only be able to enjoy local, live music Wednesday through Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m., you’ll always be enchanted by the stellar views found at Harbor Restaurant — especially after the sun slips beyond the horizon.
Start your meal with a drink — alcoholic or not. At the 30-foot long Copper Top Bar, you will find an impressive selection of beers, wines, spirits, and specialty cocktails. Sixteen beer taps pour craft seasonals at a constant 29 degrees, and a tap wine system delivers house whites and reds. The wine list is pretty impressive, too.
The Mediterranean-inspired menu was designed around the Spanish brasa oven. The only one of its kind found in Hawaii, this enclosed grill delivers intense heat as well as distinctive flavor and texture without scorching or drying out your food.
Enjoy a variety of scrumptious appetizers, including this mouthwatering brasa crimini mushroom with egg as well as sashimi, artichoke dip, roasted eggplant, tequila prawns, and more.
From grilled octopus and ahi to clams, shrimp, and calamari, you can't go wrong with any of the seafood dishes created utilizing the freshest fish locally caught by Hawaii's fishermen.
If you're not into seafood, never fear: the menu is full of salads, soups, pastas, steaks and chicken from the brasa, and even a daily risotto special. How will you possibly be able to decide what to order?
Don't forget to save room for dessert. Consider your sweet tooth satisfied after just one bite of this apple galette made with puff pastry, vanilla bean gelato, and Jim Beam caramel sauce. Their creme brulee, s'mores skillet, and warm chocolate cobbler are also excellent choices.
Harbor Restaurant at Pier 38 is located at 1129 N Nimitz Hwy., Honolulu, HI 96817, and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Check out their website for more information and detailed menus and follow along on Facebook for updates.
