With so many vibrant colors soon coming our way, there’s never been a better time to head outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. From out in Western New York to down in the Hudson Valley, you can find a variety of easy-going hikes that are great to take during the fall. Adding one more on to your list of things to do, discover this less than 2-mile-long hike that’ll leave you enchanted in the Empire State.
Out along the western shores of Cayuga Lake where you're just outside of our City of Waterfalls, Taughannock Falls State Park turns into a colorful attraction during the fall.
The park has quite a few trails that are all worth exploring, but there's one that's a bit more spectacular than all the rest and that's the Gorge Trail.
Starting off your hike with a view of smaller falls that cascade along Taughannock Creek, this trail is only .95-miles long and won't leave you completely drained of all your energy.
Bringing you through a 400-foot tall gorge, you'll be surrounded by the walls of the gorge and colorful trees that decorate it as you make your way to the end of the trail.
A natural wonder that's amazing to see for yourself during the fall, get a unique look at New York's fall foliage with an easy hike through Taughannock Falls State Park.
As we said, there are a few other trails available to visitors of Taughannock Falls State Park and even a gorgeous overlook that's easy to get to, but there's no better way to experience this state park during the fall than by hiking through the breathtaking Gorge Trail that's here.
