Buck's Pocket State Park is located within the Appalachian Mountain foothills near Grove Oak, Alabama. It's a popular hiking destination, with its most popular trail being Point Rock Trail.
Point Rock Trail is a 2.2-mile out and back trail with an easy to moderate level of difficulty. This scenic trail starts across the Little Sauty Bridge right outside the campground. It's accessible year-round and is perfect for all skill levels.
People from near and far visit Buck's Pocket State Park to experience Point Rock Trail, which is mostly used for hiking, walking, and birding. It's a wonderful destination for anyone who loves the outdoors.
One of the trail's main features is a waterfall, which flows into Little Sauty Creek.
The trail's Jim Lynn Overlook Area offers an incredible view, especially this time of year. The canyon is bursting with colorful foliage.
At the conclusion of Point Rock Trail, you'll come to Point Rock (hence the name of the trail). This 280-foot-high bluff and its beautiful surrounding scenery, not to mention the magnificent view, makes the hike well worth it. Once you experience it for yourself, you'll most certainly agree.
