Known for its jazz and soul food restaurants, New Orleans’ Treme neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, and the oldest African American Neighborhood in the country. Named after Claude Treme, a hat maker and real estate developer who came to New Orleans from Burgundy, France in 1783, Treme is an important piece of New Orleans’ history. This one particular restaurant has been a local favorite for decades, and it’s worth your while to wait in line for some of the best fried chicken you’ll ever taste.
