Fall’s officially here. And, we all know what that means. The beautiful Pittsburgh landscape transforms into an artist’s masterpiece of vibrant colors. We can, of course, view the fall foliage by simply looking out of our front or back windows at home, at work, or even in our cars. But, if you want to get out there and really experience the beauty of fall, check out some or all of these eight places to see the fall foliage in Pittsburgh.
Drink in the spectacular colors of fall at Frick Park, which sprawls across 644 colorful acres. Immerse yourself in the colors of fall by embarking on one of the trails that crisscross the park and lead deep into the woods. Or, simply find a quiet bench to sit and admire the autumn scene.

Stretching 456 acres, Schenley Park offers sweeping views of the Pittsburgh skyline. During autumn, the park's drenched in fall's brilliant colors. Embark on one of the trails - like Panther Hollow Trail - that winds through the park and promises stunning views.

Tucked on the North Side, Riverview Park's 259 acres boast several wooded trails and is home to the Allegheny Observatory. For sweeping views, stand on one of the hilltops. Or, embark on one of the wooded trails, such as the the 2.7-mile Riverview Loop Trail.

Head to one of the viewing areas for Ohiopyle Falls to admire the gushing water with a backdrop of orange, red, and gold leaves. Of course, Ohiopyle State Park also boasts a network of hiking and biking trails, also ideal ways to view the fall foliage.

How lucky are we to be within driving distance of some of the state's most beautiful state parks? McConnells Mill State Park, just six miles from Moraine State Park, is also an idyllic spot to view the fall foliage. Hike or bike one of the more than 11 miles of trails to soak up the fall colors.

A 45-minute drive from downtown Pittsburgh, Keystone State Park offers plenty to do all year around. Admire the fall foliage by renting a boat and paddling around Keystone Lake. Enjoy a picnic among the trees. Or, head out on one of the eight miles of trails that wind through mature hardwoods, forests, and wooded areas.
