Every window of every old building can possibly hide a ghostly face or an unexpected sign from something that shouldn’t be there. However, some of these homes are hiding what locals believe to be a paranormal presence. If it is a haunted town, I wouldn't want to be here alone.

I'd like to think that maybe it's actually haunted, but I've yet to see anything too creepy myself. Even this bend in the river is said to be haunted by a spirit of a woman whose horse and buggy crashed and caused her to drown in the water.

People debate on whether the gargoyles are put there for protection or as a symbol of the house's past. The home is breathtaking inside and out, but that doesn't mean that people don't hear things sometimes. Maybe taking the trolley tour will give some answers.

Let us know if you've seen or heard anything in town that proves or disproves these stories! I love hearing from our readers about their experiences in these areas.
However, if you don’t believe in any of this hocus pocus, you can explore Atchison with a love of their history instead.
