Michelle's life is a colorful map of exploration and adventure. From the iconic streets of New York to the sunny shores of Florida, the jagged coast of Maine to the rugged terrain of Montana, she's been fortunate to call some of America's most beautiful states home. Beyond the U.S., Michelle's wanderlust has taken her on a motorcycle journey through India, led her to teach English in Hanoi, and saw her studying Spanish in Guatemala. Michelle graduated with a communications degree from the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and in addition to a career in advertising has worked with OnlyInYourState since 2016, where her love for travel and storytelling converges. Alongside writing and exploring, Michelle finds joy in photography, staying active, and time with her family.

The sun is shining, the car’s got a full tank of gas and you’re in Vacationland! Conditions are perfect for a trip to some of the best outdoor places in Maine. But, how do you choose which to visit and which to leave for another day? It’s like choosing which delicious cookie to eat. You can’t. You must have both. In so, in the spirit of having it all we give you the most epic road trip to see the best of Maine’s outdoors in one day. Of course, this doesn’t include everything but it’s a great way to start. So, hop in and get exploring!

As with any road trip to the great outdoors, make sure you’re well prepared. We recommend bringing enough food and water for each person to last for 3 days. You never know! Also be sure to have tick repellent, sunscreen, a hat, long pants, a raincoat, a warm layer and strong, suitable shoes for hiking.
