Calling all adventurers, brainiacs, and autumn explorers! There is a truly epic 24-acre corn maze waiting for you in Vermont. This field is huge, bigger than you can imagine, and filled with plenty of twists, turns, and surprises. Conquer the largest corn maze in New England for a truly rewarding and fun-filled day.
The Great Vermont Corn Maze in Danville is one of the state's uniquest seasonal attractions. The enormous natural maze is open from July 28 - October 14, 2018 daily, as long as it's not raining.
Lose yourself in this old-school puzzle that is giant in size. The Big Maze is so challenging that friendly staff is on standby to help participants solve the maze at least an hour before closing time. It's recommended that you arrive no later than 1 p.m. so you have a chance to make your way through this labyrinth. It's easy to underestimate the time needed to finish.
Not only is the maze large in acreage, it's huge in height. Some of the corn grows to more than 10 feet tall. Peeking over the top to try to navigate through the puzzle is impossible.
Along your journey, you'll find quite a few surprises. Stumble upon dinosaurs, bridges, and maybe even a boat that seems to float atop the field of green.
Wooden walkways provide panoramic vistas across the corn field and beyond. When navigating the three miles of trails, take advantage of these scenic breaks.
The 24-acre maze usually takes at least 2 hours even for the speediest of participants. However, the end view is well worth the navigational challenge. Wear sturdy walking shoes to traverse the dirt trails that run through the hillside field. There is an emergency exit trail allowing patrons a quick escape to use the restrooms or grab a snack.
Feeling overwhelmed at the idea of a 24-acre corn maze? You can take the scenic route instead! The scenic maze gives you a 40-minute hike through the Big Maze. Use directions found along the way to guide yourself to the highlights without feeling the frustration of figuring it out yourself.
Visit Pretendin while you're at the field too. Great for kids who are too little to take on the maze or to reward the big kids who finish the puzzle, this unique environment encourages play and imagination.
The Kids Village offers an opportunity to be a shopkeeper or a sheriff. The Red Barn is full of hay bales for climbing and jumping. Shoot the ten-foot slingshot in a wacky game of barnyard golf, all at Pretendin.
Visit the goats as a final treat to your visit. These kids will be super impressed that you came out to complete the maze and play in the field.
Do you think you're up to finding your way through the Big Maze? Or are you going to take the more scenic route? The Great Vermont Corn Maze is open Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (no entrance to the maze after 2 p.m.) and Saturday - Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (no entrance to the maze after 3 p.m.)
