We’re not sure how it happened, but the end of summer is upon us – and that means it’s time to start preparing for the onset of chillier weather here in the Great Lakes State. If you’re not a fan of freezing temperatures and over-the-top snowfall levels, though, you’re in luck. The Old Farmer’s Almanac has just released its long-range weather forecast for winter 2018-2019, and Michigan is in for a relatively mild year.

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, the majority of the United States (including Michigan) will experience milder-than-usual temps during the upcoming winter months.

If you’re not ready to endure subzero weather, you’ll be happy to know that temperatures are expected to remain above average throughout the winter months, with the exception of December.

Michigan will still experience average levels of snowfall, but this precipitation is expected to be countered with plenty of rain - a sign of milder winter temperatures.
