Nestled within the Harold H. Higashihara Park on Hawaii Island’s Kona Coast, Kamakana Playground is full of whimsy and enchantment. Kamakana is far from your average, run-of-the-mill playground, and the photographs prove it.
With picnic tables shaped like the Hawaiian Islands, vibrant tribal carvings found on the park’s walls, and a replica of a Hawaiian canoe, heritage-themed artistic details make Kamakana one of Hawaii’s most unique playgrounds.
Keiki will love pretending their are princes and princesses, knights and jesters. This is one Hawaiian playground where you can really let your imagination run wild.
Other notable features include a massive slide that takes guests through two and a half turns in complete darkness, tire swings, a zipline, and a 22-foot long whale sculpture to climb on.
You will even find a separate area perfect for little ones to play. With swings, short slides, and even a train, kids of all ages will have a blast at this unique park.
There are even benches and tables scattered across the park from which to enjoy a small snack or picnic lunch, and you could easily spend all day here without getting bored.
