1. Joe Minter's African Village in America - Birmingham, AL
You'll never look at junk and scrap the same way again once you tour Joe Minter's African Village in America. This attraction is definitely a head turner.
2. Bamahenge - Elberta, AL
Bamahenge is Alabama's own Stonehenge. At 21 ft tall and 104 ft across, Bamahenge's size is identical to the real Stonehenge. It's also positioned the exact same way.
3. Pickens County Courthouse - Carrollton, AL
Talk about mysterious! This courthouse's window has a ghostly face peering out of it. According to legend, the face is of a wrongly accused slave, Henry Wells, who was lynched by a mob after being accused of burning down the previous courthouse. He warned the people he would haunt them forever and he's obviously keeping his word.
4. Gravity Hill Road - Sylacauga, AL
On Gravity Hill Road, many teenagers have witnessed their cars roll uphill while parked in neutral. As legend goes, Gravity Hill Road is the site of a Native American burial ground. The reason why cars roll the wrong way on this mysterious road is because the ghosts are trying to push them off their land.
5. Ave Maria Grotto - Cullman, AL
This landscaped 4-acre garden, which features 125 miniature reproductions of religious structures, is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
6. Natural Bridge - Natural Bridge, AL
Natural Bridge, a sandstone bridge measuring 148 ft long and 60 ft tall, is the longest natural bridge east of the Rockies.
7. Cross Garden - Prattville, AL
Prattville's famous Cross Garden features thousands of wooden crosses with sayings plastered across them, some of which include "You will die!" and "Hell is hot!"..........Oh my!!!!!
8. Dead Children's Playground - Huntsville, AL
Hidden among the trees of Maple Hill Cemetery sits a playground, better known as Dead Children's Playground. According to legend, the spirits of the children come out to play, and every now and then the swings will move on their own. Note: The playground equipment has been updated since this photo, but according to witnesses, the children's spirits still come out to play.
9. Rock Animal Zoo - Hollywood, AL
This is definitely not your typical zoo. The Rock Animal Zoo has about two dozen animals created out of limestone and colorful paints. With the creation of the pet rock many years ago, it was only a matter of time before an entire zoo of rock animals was created. This is Alabama's only known rock animal zoo.
10. Bangor Cave - Blount County
In 1937, the most exciting news in Alabama was the grand opening of Bangor Cafe Club - the only underground nightclub in America. Bangor Cave housed this popular speakeasy. Interesting fact: Al Capone was a frequent guest of this nightclub.
