Iowa is well know for having some of the best greasy spoon restaurants in the entire country, and all it takes is a visit to some of our cities and towns to find a place you’ll fall in love with. One of these local legends is a small drive-in on the outskirts of Des Moines where George the Chili King has been serving up the best chili in the world since 1952.
You’ll find this amazing drive-in at 5722 Hickman Rd., Des Moines, IA 50310. They’re open Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
