After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
There is little better than finding fresh fruits and vegetables in Hawaii. Unfortunately, because so much of the food produced in our beautiful state gets exported, the produce we find at grocery stores doesn’t often last too long, considering it has been shipped to the islands. Luckily for us, the Hawaiian Islands are home to some amazing produce farmers and even better farmers’ markets for us to enjoy, including this charming farmers market in the most picturesque setting on Oahu’s north shore.
Located within the stunning Waimea Valley, the Haleiwa Farmers’ Market is the perfect backdrop for a Thursday afternoon of shopping.
In addition to the freshest produce around, the Haleiwa Farmers Market features live music as well as free arts and crafts activities for keiki, a variety of pre-made food vendors, and tons of local art for sale.
We dare you to find a prettier landscape in which to enjoy a stellar farmers market. An area of historic and cultural significance, Waimea Valley is home to 35 distinct plant collections, with one of the most impressive collections of Polynesian plants in existence as well as a picturesque waterfall.
The Haleiwa Farmers Market is located at 59-864 Kamehameha Hwy., Haleiwa, HI 96712, and is open every Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, click here. You can even discover more about Waimea Valley here.
Don’t want to make the drive all the way to the north shore to stock up on fresh, local produce and other goodies? Head to the Kapiolani Community College Farmers Market instead.
