After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
If there’s one beverage Hawaii is known for, its coffee. After all, Hawaii is the only American state with land able to grow coffee, and as a result, we take our morning caffeine fix extremely seriously. Though we will occasionally grab a drink from Starbucks or another chain if we’re in a hurry, we prefer to visit local shops that specialize in Hawaii-grown coffee like this charming coffeehouse with the best views ever.
Nestled in the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center and overlooking the breathtaking blue Pacific Ocean is Island Brew Coffeehouse, a local hangout with one of the best views on the island.
Serving up a variety of 100 percent Hawaiian coffees locally grown and roasted weekly in partnership with Rusty’s Hawaii, you can’t go wrong with a signature Kona, Ka’u, or Maui Mokka Peaberry coffee made to order in the French press.
Of course, will also find a variety of specialty espresso drinks on the menu, as well as their signature cold brew made using a slow drip process that creates a delicious, smooth, invigorating brew.
Island Brew Coffeehouse is located at 377 Keahole St., Honolulu HI 96825 along the waterfront in the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center and is open daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. You will find two other Island Brew Coffeehouse locations in Kaimuki at 1137 11th Ave., Honolulu HI 96816 and at Ala Moana Center in the Ewa Wing on the third level near the entrance to Bloomingdales. For more information, head to their website or follow them on Facebook.
