Enchanting means charming or captivating and, similar to beauty, it lies in the eye of the beholder. Sometimes places are enchanting by design, but at other times you can find them in some unexpected places. Here are some Missouri spots caught on camera that are truly enchanting.

Located at Ha Ha Tonka State Park in the Lake of the Ozarks, the stone ruins of this castle were abandoned in the turn-of-the-20th-century by a prominent Kansas City businessman without being completed. It stands high atop a bluff, in a park that also features more than 15 miles of trails, sinkholes, natural bridge, caves and lake.
This beautiful location is a non-denominational chapel overlooking the lake at Powell Gardens in Kingsville near Kansas City. It is a popular wedding spot.
This is the High Altar at the Saint Frances de Sales Oratory in St. Louis, administered by the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. It stands 52 feet high.
A pleasant spring-fed pond at the Battle of Carthage State Historical Site in Carthage commemorating the battle that took place here during the Civil War. No battles going on here now, though.

The Cabanne House was built in 1876 and is located on the north side of Forest Park at the Union Street entrance. It is one of the oldest structures in the park.
