Out in our small towns where we like to keep things simple and know not to fix what isn’t broken, you can find a variety of shops and restaurants that have been around for ages and continue to draw in visitors from all over. A favorite neighborhood spot to visit when we’re in Yates County, just outside of the heart of Penn Yan you can find a destination that has a little bit of everything that will make your mouth water. Ready to discover your favorite red and white farm of the Finger Lakes? Then let’s take a trip to Seneca Farms.
Right off of NY-54A just before you reach the northern shores of Keuka Lake's eastern branch, Seneca Farms was the first drive-thru to open up in this region and continues to have hungry residents showing up at their windows today.
Family-owned and operated for over 40 years now, the indoor dining room of Seneca Farms is filled with nostalgia from the ceilings to the floors.
You'll find that the interior is dripping with Cocoa Cola decor, details that will quickly take you back to the good old days.
From Cocoa Cola cans that have been transformed into airplanes that are hanging from the ceiling, to wall art and chandeliers, you'll feel like you just stepped inside of a 1960s Cocoa Cola commercial while you're here.
At the counter where you'll order inside, you'll find freezers full of delicious ice cream...
...And also freezers full of their famous sides and salads that people love to take with them to go.
Because Seneca Farms is such a popular place to visit, especially during the summer, you'll see that they now have a stunning pavilion that's great for outdoor dining.
While we love dining inside, there's no denying how great it is to enjoy a meal outside in the shade while the summer breeze is going and we're enjoying our favorite meal of the season.
And dining outside also means that you'll be a step away from the adorable photo opportunities that await our younger visitors of Seneca Farms.
But now let's talk about one of the main reasons why our residents flock to Seneca Farms during the summer - their ice cream!
Here at Seneca Farms, you'll have quite a few options to choose from when it comes to deciding on dessert.
With homemade ice cream that's made right here at Seneca Farms, you'll find different flavors of ice cream and custard featured every week.
All of the ice cream is hand-swirled, adding in delicious sweets and treats to create ice cream flavors that will blow your mind.
Dessert at Seneca Farm will always complete any summer day, but let's not forget that this place is open for lunch and dinner also.
Known for having juicy fried chicken that's said to make Colonel Sanders jealous, you won't find a better savory meal like this in the area.
From their potato, pasta, and macaroni salads to their sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, and haddock fish fry, there's an entire CVS receipt-length of reason to love Seneca Farms.
Open every day of the week, don't miss out on visiting Seneca Farms before they close for the season in October!
