Back in the good ol’ days, there were plenty of drive-ins, but most are long gone. This classic ice cream spot is one of the few drive-ins left, and their delicious food and ice cream is keeping up with the times. With awesome service, a vibe that will transport you to the past, and a treat to cool you down in the heat, there’s nothing better than this South Dakota gem. This spot offers the old fashioned charm you simply can’t find nowadays, and some seriously good treats.
B&G Milkyway is one of South Dakota's oldest ice cream shops.
Very little has changed throughout the decades. The old red and white building is the same building your grandparents saw, and the menu has only changed slightly as they've added new items.
The food pairs perfectly with a cold cone of ice cream. They use Nathan's hot dogs, always staying local, and they also offer sloppy joes and BBQ beef, made from their original recipe.
Whether you want to cool down with their original creations like an avalanche or slushwhip, or are craving a cone piled high or a classic banana split, this spot will have you feeling like you've been transported to the past.
