There are plenty of gorgeous spots in Wisconsin where you can plan a getaway, but there’s something extra magical and relaxing about being able to spend a few days on the waterfront. Whether is a small or big lake or one of Wisconsin’s big rivers, you’ll love the option of finding your zen as you look out over the water. Getting to dip your toes in and cool off is also a big draw. All across the state there are tons of great places, but here are 11 waterfront inns that offer the perfect place for a summer getaway:
1. The Musky Inn - St. Germain
This 110-year-old log lodge is the epitome of life Up North. It faces west, so plan on settling in for some spectacular sunsets. Located at 8218 Deer Run Dr., Saint Germain, WI 54558.
2. Lake Orchard Farm Retreat - Sheboygan
This place is the best of both worlds. You're perched right on the edge of Lake Michigan and it has all the amenities you could ever want - but it's also on a working farm. It's country luxury and close to a ton of things to do in Kohler and Sheboygan. Located at W839, Lake Orchard Ct., Sheboygan, WI 53083.
3. Mendota Lake House Bed and Breakfast - Madison
My favorite little Madison gem, this B & B is located in a beautifully restored arts and crafts mansion that is on the National Historic Register. The rooms are huge and cozy, you're on a bluff right above Lake Mendota and just a mile from the UW campus and all the happenings in downtown Madison. Plus, the owners are delightful. Located at 704 E Gorham St., Madison, WI 53703.
4. Lochnaiar Inn - Racine
This home was built right on the shore of Lake Michigan in 1915 by Scottish immigrants. The gorgeous Tudor-style house has stunning lake views and is incredibly cozy. Located at 1121 Lake Ave., Racine, WI 53403.

This gorgeous inn takes advantage of its spot right on the Wisconsin River with stellar views of the upper Dells with an amazing dock and back patio space. 6. Water Street Inn - Ephraim
This inn is another National Historic Landmark. The current owners are just the third owners since the first brick was laid to build the place in 1896. There are few places with better water views than this. There's an expansive grounds and gorgeous vistas everywhere. Located at 9944 Water St. S, Ephraim, WI 54211.
7. French Country Inn on the Lake - Lake Geneva
This unique spot is crafted with wood pieces crafted in Denmark in the 1880s and displayed at the Chicago World's Fair before being used here. With balconies 15 feet from Lake Como, you can't go wrong. Located at W4190 West End Rd., Lake Geneva.
8. Bay Point Inn - Egg Harbor
Unsurprisingly, some of the best waterfront views in the state are in Door County. This spot takes advantage of it's location atop the Niagara Escarpment to provide amazing panoramic views of Green Bay. Located at 7933 WI-42, Egg Harbor, WI 54209.

This place sits on a small island right off the coast and offers pretty much 360 degree views and access to all the great things Superior has to offer. Located at 300 Marina Dr., Superior, WI 54880.
11. Edgewater Resort - Ephraim
A charming mix of nostalgia and updated amenities, this place feels like it's straight out of a 1950s movie, but with all the modern comforts. It's a glorious, charming little escape.
