Have you ever wandered past a building and wondered how old it is? I do it all the time. Indiana is home to a lot of beautiful architecture. Personally, I’m a little surprised when I come across a building still standing that was built such a long time ago. I’ve done a little digging and I managed to find a handful of really old buildings still standing in the state of Indiana. Some of these buildings are still in use and others have been abandoned and are in the process of being reclaimed by nature. The abandoned ones may even be haunted! Either way, the fact that these old buildings in Indiana are still standing is incredible.
The Coffin House plays a very historic role in Indiana's timeline as it was a station for the Underground railroad. This eight room brick home was built in 1827.
I know exactly what you are thinking - um... that is not a building. Well, no. But, it is a very old structure in the state of Indiana. The carousel was originally installed in an amusement park in 1917. It stayed there until the building it was in collapsed. The mechanism of the carousel was destroyed. However, the animals were left undamaged. You can see some of these beautiful and old wooden animals at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis today!
Cole Motor Car Company was the name of an early automobile maker that was in operation from 1908 until 1925.
