When was the last time you visited a castle cellar? There’s an underground pub in South Carolina that is like no other place you’ve ever eaten – and it’s a bit hidden, making it all the more intriguing! Check it out.
You'll find the castle cellar after you enter a side door on this building in downtown Simpsonville.
The establishment is called Unterhausen The Castle Cellar Pub. You'll know as soon as you step through the door that you've made a great decision. Head down the stairs and let's get this Bavarian food and beer adventure under way.
The Unterhausen Castle Cellar Pub doesn't disappoint in either decor or food. (The staff is also great!) From the block walls to the wooden beams overhead and the Renaissance light fixtures, the space feels authentic and cozy.
Step up to the entree selections on the menu and you'll find (no surprise here) Bratwurst served with German potato salad and German kraut. There's also a Reuben panini that'll have you coming back for more.
If it's unusual to find an underground eatery in South Carolina (it is!), then it's even more special to stumble upon a castle cellar that pours German beer and dishes up Bavarian food right here in the Palmetto State!
