Minnesota isn’t exactly known for its medieval fortresses surrounded by moats. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have a few castles of our own. In northern Minnesota, Naniboujou Lodge is probably the closest thing the Land of 10,000 Lakes has to a traditional castle. Not only is it an incredibly beautiful place to stay, but it’s an absolutely delicious place to eat. Eating there is like living in a storybook. Take a look:
A trip to Naniboujou Lodge is quite the journey for most Minnesotans.
Though it is a bit of a hike, it's well worth it. For one thing, it's right on the shores of Lake Superior. Whether you're staying the night or just stopping in to eat, you'll be treated to a great view.
But if you don't stay the night, still stop in for some food. In the summertime, Naniboujou serves a daily breakfast, lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea. Sundays bring a delicious brunch.
But when your food arrives, you'll have to tear your eyes away. Why? Because it's that delicious. The menu is full of great items, like breakfast classics.
You can also get an incredible lunch or dinner. If it's fish you crave, you can't go wrong with a walleye sandwich. You'll also find great burgers, sandwiches, and steaks on the menu.
This gorgeous lodge - Minnesota's closest thing to a castle - is truly awe inspiring. Plan a visit to Grand Marais this summer for a great meal in an incredible setting.
