Summer weather is here and these days, all I want to do is cool down. When the air conditioning or kiddie pools aren’t enough, head to the following water park in Maryland. Treat yourself and your family to a day full of fun in the sun (and the water!) at Six Flags America’s water park rides.

Six Flags America is located in Bowie and is known for its thrilling rides. Most people head here for the sky high roller coasters.

What you may not know is that many area families skip right past the coasters and go straight to the water park. This is THE place to be for a refreshing summer day trip.

Love a good water slide? There are a ton to choose from at Six Flags America.

Raft down the Tornado, which guides you 132 feet into a giant watery funnel. The best part about this slide is that multiple people can be seated on the raft at once.

The Bonzai Pipelines sends you zooming down a whopping 6-stories!

It may look like an ordinary water slide, but the Shark Attack Hammerhead is surprisingly steep, with a big splash at the end.

The list of water slides goes on and on, and they're only the beginning when it comes to the water park area.

All ages can enjoy Splashwater Falls, which has over 100 water features!

It's especially great for those with younger children, as there's plenty of room to run around and cool off.

The biggest attraction is Hurricane Bay, which is a gigantic wave pool. It's like a man-made ocean right here in Maryland.
