The Tiny Mississippi Town That Transforms Into A Watermelon Wonderland Each Year

Though Daniella was born in New York and has lived in a couple of other states, Mississippi has been her home for more than 30 years. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi, Daniella began to hone her writing skills through various internships. Last year, we highlighted Water Valley’s Watermelon Festival. But that’s not the only festival in the state dedicated to the deliciously sweet fruit. For the last 40 years, the tiny town of Mize has been hosting its own festival. Officially known as the Mississippi Watermelon Festival, the annual event offers small town fun for the entire family (in addition to lots of watermelon, of course). Take a look:
