There’s nothing quite like summertime in Kentucky and the more time spent outdoors, the better. Anyone with a deep love for the Bluegrass State has likely heard of My Old Kentucky Home State Park and The Stephen Foster Story, an unforgettable outdoor theater experience that takes place in Bardstown each summer. If you’ve never been to this classic outdoor theater in one of the most charming and historic areas of our state, then this entertaining show is something you’ll definitely want to experience this summer.
My Old Kentucky Home is a historic site in Bardstown that is filled with charm, intrigue, and a wide array of things to experience.
While the area may be well known for its enchanting town and stately museum, don't forget to purchase a ticket to a classic performance of The Stephen Foster Story.
The Stephen Foster Story is in its 60th season at My Old Kentucky Home and the show continues to delight and entertain visitors of all ages.
The performance tells the story of America’s first great composer, Stephen Collins Foster, who "set the stage" for future songwriters. The Stephen Foster Story features over fifty of Foster’s greatest compositions such as "Oh! Susanna," "Camptown Races," "Beautiful Dreamer," "Hard Times (Come Again No More)," and, of course, Kentucky’s state song, "My Old Kentucky Home."
