When you think of things to do in Georgia, you go to all the usual places; out to eat at nice restaurants, the Georgia Aquarium and maybe hiking on a few trails. 1. Fricks Cave - Walker County
Check out Fricks Cave for a caving adventure! This magnificent cave in Walker County is home to 10,000 endangered Gray Bats and is one of two Gray Bat caves in Georgia. Visiting this place will surely give you an otherworldly experience.
2 Bellwood Quarry - Midtown Atlanta
Bellwood Quarry is a beautiful gem located about a mile from Midtown (Atlanta). It was mined for a century, now it has been transformed into a quarry. It's not open to the public now but there are plans for this space to become the largest park in Atlanta complete with athletic fields, rec centers, and neighborhoods.
3. Ossabaw Island - Chatham County

Located off the coast of Savannah is Ossabaw Island, the third largest barrier island in Georgia. It is 9,000 acres of wooded uplands with freshwater ponds and 16,000 acres of marshlands. This unspoiled island was set aside by the state of Georgia as a preserve of nature for scientific, cultural study, research, and education. This island also has 13 miles of undeveloped beaches open to the public.

Some of the most beautiful pictures of Georgia has been taken at Rock City. Visiting Lover's Leap should definitely be on your list of things to do in Georgia. Rock City is located in both Georgia and Tennessee and is listed as one of Chattanooga's top attractions.
7. Mickve Israel Temple - 20 E Gordon St, Savannah, GA 31401
Savannah is known for having some of the oldest churches in the country. If you haven't gotten a chance to visit already, go see the Mickve Israel Temple. Itwas organized in 1735 by Sephardic Jewish immigrants from London and is one of the oldest synagogues in the country. Its gothic style architecture is both rare and beautiful.
8. Booth Western Art Museum - 501 N Museum Dr, Cartersville, GA 30120
If you've always been fascinated by the Wild West, then you will get a kick out of going to this museum. The Booth Western Art Museum is the largest permanent museum devoted to all things Western American. Explore cowboys, stagecoaches, and Civil War history through contemporary American art.
9. Mercier Orchards - 8660 Blue Ridge Dr, Blue Ridge, GA 30513
Mercier Orchards is the largest apple orchard in the southeast and is listed as the #1 thing to do in Blue Ridge by Tripadvisor. At this orchard, you can pick 20 varieties of apples, take a tractor tour through the orchard or eat a delicious meal at the cafe. When you visit, be sure to try one of Mercier's world famous pies!
10. Grand Bay Wildlife Management - 10 miles N of Valdosta
Valdosta, GA 31605
Take a walk with nature at the Grand Bay Wildlife Management Center. On top of walking along the boardwalk to spot gators and other animals, this 8,700-acre wildlife area is open for hunting, camping, hiking, and other recreational uses.
