The Easy Trail In Nebraska That Will Take You To The Top Of The World

Western Nebraska has some of the most interesting hikes in the state, thanks mostly to its rocky terrain and untamed natural areas. This one in Chadron State Park is easy enough for almost anyone, and it leads to one of the most spectacular views in Nebraska.

The Black Hills Overlook Trail is one of those park trails that visitors rave about, and for good reason.

Depending on your hiking experience and fitness, the short trail will be considered easy or moderate due to some hills and rough ground.

Follow the signs to Black Hills Overlook and park in the parking lot there. If you aren't up for a hike that day, you can simply enjoy the views from there - you won't be disappointed.

But if you're feeling energetic and want to explore the area, head to the Overlook Trail trailhead.

About a mile ahead, the trail intersects with the Outrider Trail. It's here that the most stunning views will present themselves.

Continue along the trail for a four-mile loop that will take you through unforgettable scenery. The trail will lead you to a peaceful canyon and a lovely meadow. If you have the time and energy, this is a must-do trail.

Whether you hike just to the overlook and back or take the long way around to see it all, the Black Hills Overlook Trail is one seriously beautiful experience.
