The wood is fully crystallized and estimated to be more than 200 million years old. The store's owners have mineral rights to quite a bit of land near the Petrified National Forest and all the gorgeous petrified wood they sell is recovered by them. The owners even cut and polish most of the finished treasures you'll find inside the store.

Once you've finished exploring the oodles of rare finds available on the many aisles within the store, you'll want to take a look out back. Jim and Cathy Gray have devoted their life to the store for the last 48 years — and it really shows!
