The rolling hills of Wisconsin are the perfect home for farmland. All across the state there are farms growing all kinds of produce as well as raising dairy cows or other farm animals. The farms are some of the prettiest parts of our state and while the owners definitely world incredibly hard, there’s something very relaxing about farm country for the rest of us. The pace is a bit slower and it feels far, far away from the hustle and bustle of life. When you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed, think about taking a trip to some great little farm towns.
This small town of 1,000 residents is the center of Wisconsin's cranberry growing region. Wisconsin grows more than half the cranberries grown in the world. They host the largest cranberry festival in the world.
Boscobel is a great place to make your home-base as you check out Wisconsin's driftless area. They have some of the best wild turkey hunting in the state, 90 class A trout streams and more than a century of history to explore.
Located due west of Madison, Richland Center is a great place to explore the lower Wisconsin River valley as well as the rolling hills of this part of the state. Birthplace of Frank Lloyd Wright and important in Wisconsin's suffrage movement, there's a ton of history to discover here, as well.
This is a cute and charming little town along Lake Pepin that has lots to love with Maiden Rock State Park and a charming Main Street, but also has farmland as far as the eye can see.
Another spot that's not far from Milwaukee, Vernon is a way to get out in the country without traveling a far way. Close to many lakes and the Fox River, it's a wonderful getaway place.
Central Wisconsin grows some of the most coveted ginseng in the world and Marathon City is ground zero for that industry. Near to Wausau, it's the best of both worlds.
