Milwaukee is full of fascinating nature spots, but if you trek just outside of the city, you’ll find something truly amazing. This nature preserve might seem hidden, but it holds the biggest views of our lake. With seemingly-never-ending trails, bluffs unlike any other, and truly unchanged nature preserves, this natural oasis just north of Milwaukee is simply breathtaking.
Lion's Den features staircases and boardwalks so that you can access the most beautiful, hidden parts of this nature lover's paradise. This bridge leads to a staircase that goes down to the shoreline.
Next to the preserve is a 44-acre wetland area owned by United States Fish and Wildlife Service, which works to increase the presence of wildlife in the area.
There is even a natural area that hasn't been touched since before the settlement of Wisconsin! If you're looking for a true nature preserve, this is it!
You must get out to this beautiful spot as soon as possible!
You can learn more about Lion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve at the Ozaukee County website here.
Lion's Den Gorge is located at 511 High Bluff Dr., Grafton, WI.
