To us, the Old Stone Fort Archaeological Park stood out — it’s one of the prettiest places in the world, bar none, and loves to play host to visitors.
You can find the Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park at 63 miles, or roughly an hour from the heart of Nashville. That's not too far if you're planning a weekend getaway without breaking the bank.
The park is known for its rock structures found throughout the park, mysterious stone formations that date back between 1,500 and 2,000 years old. Most folks believe it was once a ceremonial gathering spot for the early Native Americans.

Nowadays you can visit the once-sacred space or you can take one of the many hiking trails that criss-cross the park.
